Exquisite
flatware and cutlery produced using old world methods.
In
1856 two goldsmiths created Roux-Marquiand.
In
1992 a new strategy based on these creations is started. Experimental
creators launched some new lines, respecting quality and know-how
of their original craftsmen.Success is immediate.
On
June 2000 Roux Marquiand reinforced its know-how through association
with the parisian Aubry-Cadoret, creating then the 3rd french
goldsmith group.
Below
is a detailing of how Roux-Marquiand flatware is produced using
the "lost wax" process..
1st
step : The manufacturing of waxes

For each handle, one wax
is produced. These waxes are put on a tree.
2nd step : To put
in a plaster cylinder and flow in

The
wax tree is introduced in a plaster cylinder. The cylinder is
heated and the wax is then "lost" giving the name of
"lost wax casting" technique.
After a 24 hours heating
in the oven, the flow of the melting metal can take place.
3rd step : Exit
of the metal cylinder

After cleaning of the cylinder, the metal tree appears, identical
to
the original waxes.
4th
step : Preparation of the handles

The cut of the handle will
allow to weld the "top" of the fork. The polishing of
the surfaces is essential for the
silver to adhere.
5th
step : The welding of the cutlery

The pieces, positionned
with great precision, are welded with silver
(for
highest resistance).
6th
step : The finishing
The final polishing gives
brightness to the cutlery and the desired color. Every piece is
controlled and packed
before expediton.
